Trilliant and EVNHCMC Showcased Smart Energy Communications Innovation Trilliant and EVNHCMC Showcased Smart Energy Communications Innovation Smart Grid Communications SHARE Trilliant May 22, 2017 Trilliant, a global provider of IoT and smart energy communications solutions, together with Ho Chi Minh Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) showcased the successful pilot of the nation’s first smart communications network at Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) on April 20, 2017. Saigon Hi-Tech Park is a $1.5 billion business park and is the centerpiece of Vietnam’s bid to make Ho Chi Minh City the Silicon Valley of the Pacific. The event, led by the U.S. Commercial Service department and sponsored by the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) People’s Committee, SHTP and Dragon Capital, hosted more than sixty international corporations who saw firsthand the results and future possibilities of the country’s first smart city communications network. Regional power provider EVNHCMC and Trilliant built the country’s first smart energy communications network in 2016. The live communications network has proven to be a foundational step in EVN’s commitment to advancing the efficiency, reliability and affordability of energy for their customers. “EVNHCMC had a vison. By working with Trilliant, they could look beyond a single application to a holistic solution which addressed near and long-term objectives to support the government’s HCMC smart city strategy,” said Bryan Spear, Trilliant’s managing director, Asia Pacific. “The micro-city environment provided an ideal setting for demonstrating scalable, high-tech smart energy communications innovation.” The platform extends from SHTP — which includes global technology leaders such as Microsoft, Intel and Samsung — to EVNHCMC’s operations center. This type of deployment demonstrates that solutions can be tested in a micro-city, like an industrial park, and then scaled up to be deployed city and nationwide. “Trilliant’s pilot project with EVNHCMC at Saigon Hi-Tech Park shows what is possible when members of the public and private sector get together to take a fresh look at solving infrastructure challenges,” said Elizabeth Shieh, principal commercial officer of the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration. “The Park is like a miniature city where great technologies like Trilliant’s smart grid technology can be tested and proven.” The head of the Office of the People’s Committee, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, president of SHTP, Mr. Le Hoai Quoc and U.S. Counsel General Ms. Mary Tarnokwa, along with officials from various organizations, were present at the event.
